Later model Apple computers such as the Power Macintosh G4 and the G4 Cube come with a new video connector called ADC (Apple Display Connector). While ADC is very practical because it supplies the monitor with power as well as video and USB signals all in one cable there is a downside, too: Older Apple monitors, like the original Cinema Display or the 15" graphite Apple Studio Display, are equipped with industry-standard DVI-Connectors. The same is true for many flat-panel displays in the PC market. With the DVI Extractor all such monitors with a 24-pin DVI-D connector, can easily be used with the latest generation of Apple CPUs that sport the new ADC connector.
